Cheryl Tate, LCSW has worked in the field of crisis intervention, counseling, and clinical social work for more than 20 years.  Mrs.Tate served for three years as a member of the Rape Crisis team at Albemarle Sentara Hospital and as a therapist to victims of sexual assault at a local women’s domestic violence shelter.  She later worked as a child therapist and forensic interviewer at a child advocacy center.

Mrs. Tate joined Albemarle Counseling Group in 2016, specializing in child/ adolescent counseling, TF-CBT, and trauma issues in all ages.

In addition, during the 2020 Covid -19 pandemic Mrs. Tate also provides video therapy services to children and adults.
