Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain, allowing the brain to resume its natural healing process.
It is a method proven to help children and adults of all ages recover not only from traumatic or distressing life experiences but also address a wide range of challenges to include depression, anxiety, panic disorders, phobias, grief and loss, as well as chronic illness and pain.
A typical EMDR therapy session lasts from 60-90 minutes. EMDR therapy may be used within a standard talking therapy, as an adjunctive therapy with a separate therapist, or as a treatment all by itself. It should only be offered by properly trained and licensed mental health clinicians.
