Psychological Testing

Psychological Testing for: Intelligence, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Memory, Personality, Emotional Difficulty, Learning Problems  & ADHD

The main purpose of psychological testing is to gain a better understanding of a person and her/his behavior. Psychological tests can help you and your treatment professional better recognize your strengths and weaknesses, identify problems with thoughts or emotions, and make recommendations for treatment.

Psychological test results provide a “snapshot” of the individual, and they yield information about long-term adjustment as well as more acute difficulties. There are many types of scientifically developed psychological tests and procedures in use. The most common tests and procedures include measures of intelligence, personality, adjustment, focus and activity level, mood, adaptive skills, academic achievement level, developmental disorders, and psychopathology.

Psychological test procedures employ many formats such as structured and unstructured interviews, standardized paper and pencil measures, standardized ratings by others, behavioral observations, and interactive testing procedures.

Your psychometrician is trained to work with you to determine which combination of test measures and procedures will lead to an improved understanding you and your adjustment.
